Southend Airport was bought by the Stobart Group in 2008, and in March 2012 started to operate as London Southend Airport after extensive expansion.
The Stobart Group is more than just a transportation company, which most of us would believe because of the successful TV show.
It's business includes areas of Biomass energy, port ownership, railway maintenance, property and logistics, Rally team sponsorship,
as well as owning Carlisle Lake District Airport.
Unfortunately Eddie Stobart himself never got to see his international Southend Airport dream come true, as he died on 31st March 2011, aged just 56.
In the 1960's, Southend Airport was the UK's third busiest Airport before Stansted took over this position in the early 1970's.

We have moved the car park to a new address, not only are we STILL the closest offsite car park to the Southend Airport terminal* instead of it being a 5 minute transfer for Park and Ride
it is now 3 - 4 minutes transfer time for Park and Ride. This is less than the time it takes to walk from some of the on-site car parks!
You must fill in all dates and times to get a quote, thank you.
